ChicP, which creates flavoured houmous dips from wonky veg, has introduced a new autumnalflavourthat is free from garlic.
The chilli pumpkin houmous, which is now available in stores and online, is a unique flavour and the first and only garlic-free houmous available in the UK.
With heavy Christmas meals approaching, the dip is being marketed to health-conscious consumers trying to stay on track with a diet.
Made from leftover raw vegetables and fruits, ChicP aims to reduce foodwaste. Foreach chilli pumpkin houmous sold, the company will donate 10 per cent of the price to Feedback,a London-basedcampaign group working towards a more sustainable food system.
Giving serving suggestions, ChicP founder Hannah McCollum said: “You can heat it up and add a dollop to some soup. Add into a salad mix for a creamy dressing or pair with some roasted chicken, or vegetables for some extra spice. The options are endless and it’s definitely looking like it will be a new fave.”
The ChicP range, which also includes a beetroot houmous, a herby houmous, a carrot, ginger and turmeric houmous and a banana and cacao houmous, is available at Wholefoods, Ocado,Amazon Fresh, Selfridgesand other independent retailers.
