At Future Fresh we believe that the key to a healthy, balanced diet is easy access to low-cost fruit and veg, which often means fresh and local produce, writes sales director Graham Weldon.
As a distribution company based in Yorkshire, we are passionate about ensuring that the region has the best diet possible, and so deal exclusively with locally grown fruit and veg.
Future Fresh has a combined experience of more than 100 years in the procurement and distribution of fresh local produce throughout Yorkshire, and is committed to sourcing the best-quality local produce. We believe supplying good-quality produce helps to encourage and increase consumption of fruit and veg among customers, as they can enjoy good, healthy food at a reasonable cost.
Future Fresh works hard to help increase awareness about the benefits of fruit and veg throughout Yorkshire. We fully support the department of health’s 5 A DAY programme and have been a 5 A DAY partner for four months.
We use the DoH’s 5 A DAY Just Eat More (fruit and veg) logo on all our promotional material, from brochures to headed paper, in order to encourage healthy eating and communicate the 5 A DAY message to all our customers, suppliers and stakeholders.
By supporting the 5 A DAY programme, we feel we are able to contribute to the nationwide drive to increase the amount of fruit and veg we all eat and therefore help to create a healthier, and hopefully happier, Britain.
Throughout Yorkshire, Future Fresh works with the wholesale sector, local and regional growers and also the catering and hospitality market. We care about the region’s fruit and veg, and our long-established links with quality-led growers ensure that the public benefits from the pick of the crop.
As well as the finest local produce, Future Fresh is able to source a full range of exotic fruit and vegetables through our network of approved, quality assured suppliers.
We believe that as well as supplying the best, fresh home-grown fruit and veg, we must make more exotic foods available, to help broaden the healthy options available to customers. By expanding the choices people have when it comes to healthy eating, we hope this increases the chance they will be able to maintain a healthy diet for longer.
We are committed to continuing to support the 5 A DAY campaign and promote healthy eating throughout Yorkshire, and plan to incorporate the 5 A DAY Just Eat More (fruit and veg) logo on even more of our materials in the future.
