Happy Monkey smoothie

British drinks brand Happy Monkey has introduced a new variety to its smoothie range.

Happy Monkey's apple and blackcurrant flavour joins the firm's strawberry and banana, and orange and mango lines, and, like its stablemates, contains no added sugar, no sweeteners, no preservatives, no ‘bits' and 100 per cent pure fruit.

The limited release in 200 Tesco stores precedes a wider major multiple rollout later in 2014.

Happy Monkey's smoothies have seen strong sales growth in recent times despite overall category value erosion.

The Essex-based firm holds a 9 per cent volume share of the chilled kids drinks market, with sales growing annually from £1.5 million two years ago to more than £4m today.
