Dorchester has been named as the most health-conscious town in the UK by Tesco.
Shoppers in the Dorset town buy fruit and veg more regularly than any other place in the country, according to the UK's leading grocery retailer.
In second place, reported the Western Morning News, was Taunton, in Somerset, closely followed by Redhill, in Surrey, Cambridge, and Hemel Hempstead, in Hertfordshire.
Meanwhile, Tesco also claims to have found shoppers in Plymouth, Devon, favour rhubarb the most, while the biggest broccoli lovers are also in Taunton. Slough shoppers can't get enough of bananas, the retailer also noted.
In Cambridge, oranges are bought more regularly than anywhere else, while onions are the top choice for shoppers in Halifax, Yorkshire.
Tesco created a map of the UK’s fruit and vegetable eating habits by analysing weekly data collected in all of its stores over a 12-month period.
Joe Chapman, Tesco's corporate affairs manager for the south-west, told the Western Morning News: “The map reveals Dorchester residents to be a great example to the rest of the nation for their real passion for fresh fruit and vegetables.
“Judging by their voracious appetite for fruit and vegetables it’s obvious that many Dorchester residents have taken health experts’ advice to heart of eating five pieces of fruit or veg a day.
“We all know how tastes change from country to country, but this map shows the fantastic regional preferences purely within Britain.”
