Tesco has slashed the price of avocados to celebrate its centenary year since being founded in 1919.
Britain’s largest supermarket has more than halved the price of its Ready to Eat Avocados from 85p to 39p each, with the offer lasting until the end of May.
Tesco also announced a third off on salad tomato six packs, reducing the price from 75p to 39p, with the offers available in store or online.
Tesco chief customer officer, Alessandra Bellini, said: “To continue the celebration of 100 years at Tesco, we’re launching a second burst of price drops on hundreds of different products to help customers get even more great value on their weekly shop.”
Tesco also said it was the first time it would be introducing Jack’s products into standard Tesco stores.
The retailers new discount brand was launched in September last year, with 10-15 new Jack’s stores being rolled since then.
