Spalding-based organic salads specialist SunFresh Produce is looking for UK growers to supply its rapidly expanding business.

Formed in April, SunFresh aims to provide growers worldwide with a collaborative marketing platform into UK retailers, wholesalers and foodservice operators.

The company supplies Morrisons, Musgrave and Tesco with organic tomatoes, cucumbers and capsicum as well as small volumes of organic fruit.

SunFresh is managed by Colin Awcock, Simon Needham, Jeff Ffitch and Matt Godfroy, who between them have several decades of experience in fresh produce and retail.

Godfroy said: “We are looking to add more UK growers to our portfolio. SunFresh is quality and freshness driven, the consumer understands food miles and wants to support home-grown produce. We are not here to make huge profits, we exist as there is a need for specialism, especially as organics as a category is under pressure; we deliver a point of difference and are able to increase organic and sustainable farming practices.”

SunFresh sources from growers in Belgium, Bulgaria, Israel, Italy, Morocco and Spain as well the UK, providing 12-month availability.
