Grower and importer Stubbins kicked off its celebration of 50 years of excellence this week, as an official partner of The Taste Of London 2014.

The Waltham Cross-based firm has a huge presence at the show, which was expected to attract upwards of 70,000 visitors.

Stubbins says it is not celebrating half a century in the business - it is using the landmark as a launch pad for significant change across the company.

The Stubbins stand at Taste of London is showing off not just its versatile fresh offer, but also that it has expanded into ambient and frozen, dairy and fish. A brand new high-end confectionery range, Lovi, was launched online this week and is getting its first major airing at the Regents Park show.

The Stubbins Food Partnerships Kitchen Garden was also decorated with a bounty of fresh produce and is hosting many of the top chefs from the capital and thousands of food-loving consumers.

Stubbins managing director Peter Turone said the company was a perfect fit for the show’s theme, 'Future trends and talent'. “With a respectful and appreciative nod to our past, we believe this is the ideal time for the company and our industry-leading team of people to look to our future and we have chosen the UK’s most prestigious and successful food event as the perfect environment to kick-start our celebrations with tens of thousands of trade and consumer visitors,” he said.

“We are fortunate to be able to look forward from such a strong historical base. We have the benefits of a rock-solid infrastructure, award-winning service levels, and the ability to deliver consistently fantastic product from a controlled and integrated supply chain, at a competitive price.

“We know what we are good at as a company. We believe we’ve become the very best at selling salad products to the UK supermarkets and that the principles underpinning the partnerships we have built can be applied to make our services available to a far wider network of customers, with a broader range of exciting new products.'
