The Soil Association is promoting organic growers and brands again this Christmas by relaunching its online store for organic produce.
Featuring products including veg boxes, turkeys, and other food and drink, the Organic Collective Christmas marketplace is a one-stop shop to helps shoppers find all the products they need for an organic Christmas.
The marketplace is designed to give all Soil Association Certification licensees a platform to showcase their products, helping to fuel the organic market at a key time of year for sales.
Alongside the Organic Trade Board’s ‘Feed Your Happy’ campaign, The Soil Association Certification will be running an online advertising campaign to help lead shoppers to the site.
The platform’s launch follows the success of this year’s Organic September, which contributed to market growth of 7.1 per cent in the organic sector in the 30 days of September.
This was up from an average of 4.2 per cent to date in 2017, according to Nielsen. Organic fruit was a key area of growth, with sales up 11.7 per cent.
Liz Bowles, head of farming at the Soil Association, said: “As shoppers continue to prioritise their nutrition and food traceability, and with the organic market forecast to exceed £2.2 billion in sales by the year end, there’s no better time to celebrate organic than at Christmas.
“As well as helping consumers find everything they need to be inspired about organic on the Christmas hub, we are also encouraging them to visit their local independent organic retailer, try a box scheme or visit a farm shop.”
