The Soil Association is encouraging growers interested in converting to organics to attend one of a number of events taking place across the country.

The charity says that the events will allow growers to learn more about the principles of organic farming, how to convert your farm, how you can benefit from organic grants and market opportunities for farm businesses.

The next event takes place on September 11 at Manor Organic Farm, Long Whatton, Leicestershire, which includes the option of an organic farm tour.

James Twine, commercial director at the Soil Association said: “These events are a great opportunity for all producers to get an insight into the key elements of organic farming and growing - at a time when the UK organic market is growing so dynamically.

“A range of practical speakers will provide an overview of the market, the grants available as well as sharing their on farm experience of best practice. All major enterprises are covered.''
