Produce World Marshalls backs roadHoG project

Produce World Marshalls is doing its bit for youngsters in Lincolnshire by housing a double-decker bus that is used for a youth centre project in the Boston area.

The roadHoG Bus Youth Project serves local secondary schools and the double-decker is fully kitted out with appropriate resources and is run by a youth worker. It visits eight different communities in the region as a fortnightly drop-in youth centre, and encourages and inspires young people to aim higher in life through educational and fun activities and appropriate relationships developed between adults and young people.

The project has been running for more than two years and was developed by the Lincolnshire Youth Mission Ltd.

The Produce World group has a community impact strategy that it implements through The Growing Trust. The trust makes an annual donation from the group and this year it will be donating to the roadHoG Bus Youth Project.

Produce World Marshall’s business unit drector Graham Buddle said: “The roadHoG Bus Youth Project is an extremely valuable local community project, is well received by young people and is a valuable asset to the community, which Produce World Marshalls is proud to offer support to.”

Tony Coe, roadHoG Bus Youth project manager, said: “Young people in south Lincolnshire can be very isolated and their horizons can be limited. The roadHoG Bus Youth Project gives a fun place of training and inspiration for young people to engage with others and be provided with a safer place to socialise. When the bus is not in use Produce World Marshalls provides a home for it, keeping it safe and ready for its next outing.”
