Produce World has been named in the annual Top Track 250 league table for the first time as it pursues its vision is to be the “best and most respected fresh produce supplier in Europe”.

The Top Track 250 ranks Britain’s biggest mid-market private companies based on sales from the latest available audited accounts. Produce World was ranked 152nd with sales of £222.7 million.

Published by The Sunday Times, the fifth Top Track 250 also includes Premier League football clubs Manchester United and Arsenal, and luxury department stores Harrods and Selfridges.

Produce World chief executive William Burgess said: “We are obviously delighted to have been ranked in the Top Track 250 for the first time and we’re certainly keeping some very good company in that list.

“This recognition clearly shows that as a company we are heading in the right direction and I believe it displays a robustness to the business and is a direct consequence of a stable, long-term approach.”
