A Knutsford-based packaging manufacturer has won a new environmental award for achieving zero waste to landfill.
Packaging Automation, a manufacturer of tray sealing and pot filling and sealing machinery in Cheshire, was rewarded by leading waste and recycling company ACM Environmental for its environmentally-friendly operations.
It produces packaging machinery for a range of fresh products including salad, tomatoes, strawberries and other soft fruits.
Commenting on the company’s Zero Waste to Landfill Award, Neil Ashton from Packaging Automation said: “We are extremely proud to be working with ACM to support our environmental policies. Waste reduction is a topic that is important to many of our customers, so achieving zero waste to landfill is an important step to ensuring we are in tune with their commitment to the environment.
“It is also pleasing that the work we have done with ACM culminating in the award has also delivered cost savings for our business.'
