The new Organic Directory 2004-2005 is out now, published by the Soil Association with Green Books. Covering the whole of the UK, it is an easy to use guide for consumers looking to find anything organic - from their local shops and box schemes to restaurants and holiday accommodation.
Over 2,000 entries are listed by county and region. The directory will give details of:
• Local fruit and vegetable box schemes
• Local farmers’ market stalls
• Farm shops
• Retail outlets
• Farms offering accommodation and food, and family days out
• Mail order suppliers of goods including food, clothes and drink
• Restaurants, cafes and caterers.
Patrick Holden, director of the Soil Association, said: "Organic sales topped £1 billion last year, and there is an increasing demand for information about where people can find top quality organic goods and services. The new Organic Directory will provide the answers. It will also help connect consumers to the small-scale and local suppliers who make up an increasing proportion of the fastest growing market."
The directory, published by Green Books priced £6.95, can be ordered directly from the Soil Association either by calling 0117 929 0661 or on-line at www.soilassociation.org/shop. It is also available from all good bookshops and health food shops.
