An umbrella brand for premium seasonal Scottish produce has secured further listings with Morrisons stores north of the border.

First to hit the shelves are new Scotty Brand packs of baking potatoes. Available in packs of four, the spuds are grown by a number of different farmers across Scotland, and are then sorted, washed and packed by Albert Bartlett in Airdrie.

Two new lines of prepared vegetables are also available. These areCasserole Vegetables Mix, a medley of prepared swede, carrot, potato, leek and onion, andCarrots & Sprouts Mix.

Michael Jarvis, head of marketing for Scotty Brand, said: “Our prepared vegetables are all prepared and packed with care in Scotland – no washing, peeling or chopping required, and none of the goodness taken out. We’ve done the hard work for you, so that you can simply cook and enjoy.”

Scotty Brand has also extended its soup mix range, and now has two new varieties to add its name. Alongside traditional Scotch Broth soup mix launched last year, Scotty Brand has introducedVegetable & Lentil Soup Mix, andCarrot & Parsnip Soup Mix.

All Scotty Brand soup mixes are produced and packed in Scotland for Scotty Brand by Fife-based Kettle Produce. The soup mixes contain fresh vegetables, and each variety has a separate sachet of a special ingredient, such as croutons.

Jarvis added: “Our new Scotty Brand soup mixes are guaranteed to appeal to those looking for a healthy soup that can be simply prepared, heated up and enjoyed.

'Made using fresh vegetables picked at their prime, the hard work has been taken care of with none of the goodness taken out, so we’re confident that these soup mixes will prove popular for busy mums looking for a tasty and hearty meal for the family. Simply prepare some stock of your choice, add in the pack contents and leave to simmer.'

Scotty Brand was first launched in 1948 by Albert Bartlett, before being brought back in the last few years. The Scotty Brand product portfolio also includes potatoes, carrots, lettuce, prepared vegetables, Ayrshire new potatoes, and seasonal berries.
