New collaboration will see Nationwide develop the marketing and distribution of AH Worth’s potato brands into non-retail outlets including catering and wholesale
Nationwide Produce has announced it has taken over the complete marketing of the Potato Lovers, Chippies’ Choice and Baby Pearl brands as part of a new partnership with wholehead and prepared vegetable supplier AH Worth.
The partnership builds on a long-running relationship between the two companies which have worked closely together for nearly 15 years and in 2014 formed a joint venture called AGP which grades and packs onions.
The new collaboration aims to develop the marketing and distribution of AH Worth’s range of potatoes into non-retail outlets including catering and wholesale.
David Noton, director of Nationwide Produce, said: “We will be looking to drive sales on these brands through our depots at Evesham and direct from the AH Worth farming operation in Lincolnshire. We are also looking into expanding their range of potato products.”
Although AH Worth’s potato range is being marketed to Nationwide’s long-established customer base, chefs will ultimately be the end user.
Nationwide said the partnership will remain “tight-knit” to ensure all marketing and social media content is targeted at driving demand from the end consumer.
“Potato Lovers and Chippies’ Choice have been in the AH Worth stable for nearly 20 years. Our success with these brands is down to consistency and high quality,” said Giles Collett, senior commercial manager at AH Worth. “Both of our brands need to be great all-rounders with a fantastic fry colour to keep up with customer demand.”
Noton added: “AH Worth’s expertise in the growing and packing of potatoes is second to none. This coupled with our extensive sales and distribution network creates the perfect partnership.”
Both companies said they were delighted with the partnership and are excited about the opportunity to extend their range of potato products directly aimed at chefs.
The exclusive brands will be available for businesses to purchase through their dedicated account manager at Nationwide Produce from Monday 22 August.
