Morrisons brand strategist resigns

Morrisons head of brand strategy has resigned after less than six months forcing a staff shake-up in the retailer’s own-brand marketing team.

Danny Micklethwaite was vice-president of marketing at Lurpak and Anchor brand owner Arla foods before he joined Morrisons in June.

Reports suggest he left the supermarket to return to Arla in the more senior position of vice-president for strategy and portfolio.

Morrisons refused to confirm who would take over from Micklethwaite despite Marketing Magazine reports Sonia Whiteley-Guest had been appointed.

She would move over from Everything Everywhere where she worked as retail director for Orange.
