Bolton City Council was one of the big winners at the 2012 NABMA Awards, taking home the market innovation award for its Wellbeing Project initiative.

The scheme was set up at Bolton Market to advise visitors on the best ways to acquire healthy ingredients from the market’s fresh produce stalls, and provided locals with cookery sessions at the market’s on-site demonstration kitchen.

Meanwhile, the market officer of the year award was given to Robert Nixon of Stoke-on-Trent City Council, and NABMA CEO Graham Wilson was honored with a lifetime achievement nod following his inclusion on the Queen’s Birthday Honours List.
