Packaging managers in the UK are being invited to a free one-day seminar, designed to provide them with a practical guide to the most important aspects of today’s coding and labelling industry.

Markem Systems Ltd, the UK’s leading provider of coding and marking solutions, will host “Coding Intelligence” at the Marriott Hotel in Peterborough, on November 16.

The day will focus on the complex and demanding requirements of the retail supply chain, including the EAN.UCC system.

A line up of specialist coding and labelling experts from Markem will discuss key coding and labelling issues, with speakers John Pearce from GS1 UK, providing an insight into global barcoding standards, and Adam Cary from Axicon Auto ID Ltd, exploring the importance of verification and the pitfalls to avoid.

Attendees will receive a cost-effective guide to avoiding product withdrawals through coding automation - with solutions to suit all applications and budgets. They’ll also be given an in-depth view of the quality issues affecting the industry, as well as an overview of the latest RFID tag technology.

Mike Whiteoak, Markem’s market development manager, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for packaging managers to widen their knowledge of the industry, and the technologies available. It’s also a rare chance to discuss any coding concerns that they might have face-to-face with industry experts.”
