Marks & Spencer reported on progress of three years of its Plan A initiative this week. Fresh produce highlights include work towards 75 per cent of its fresh produce being pesticide-residue-free by 2015 on plan as well as its goal to increase Fairtrade fruit availability. The retailers also achieved the sale of UK carrots year-round and has reduced packaging in its food category overall by 20 per cent as well as improving the use of recycled and recyclable materials in its fresh produce packaging.
