New initiative is searching for participants on a professional management pathway in commercial UK horticulture
The LSA Charitable Trust has launched a new Fellowship Scheme to help cultivate prospective leaders in the fresh produce industry.
With this in mind, the charity has bought together a selection of leading horticultural organisations looking to safeguard the future of the industry.
The initiative aims to develop prospective industry leaders in the commercial horticulture industry by “actively involving emerging professionals in strategic leadership” and giving them a better understanding of the sector.
The Trust is searching for new entrants and managers on a professional management pathway within commercial UK horticulture.
Supporting partners of the scheme include the NFU, British Growers Association, The Horticultural Trades Association, and the Chartered Institute of Horticulture.
The Fellowship Scheme will run from 1 January 2025 and will last two years. Applications for the 2025 cohort opened on 1 September, with a deadline of 31 October 2024. Click here to apply.
Throughout the programme, participants will enhance their understanding of “the pivotal role played by trade bodies and their committees” in shaping industry strategies and engaging with government authorities.
The programme also funds attendance of conferences and study tours with the aim of expanding participants’ knowledge of ongoing research and enabling them to assess its potential impact on the industry. This is supported with a £3,300 bursary to cover all expenses.
