The marketing agency behind Jerte Picota Cherries has teamed up with London restaurant Hispania to help boost Picota cherry sales this summer.
From 10 to 14 July, the Spanish eatery next to Bank tube station will host a ‘Jerte Picota Cherry Week’, according to produce marketer Dialogue Agency, allowing customers to choose between three new dishes that include the fruit.
The creations, prepared by the restaurant’s chefs Iván Ortiz and Marcos Morán, include a Jerte Picota and goat’s cheese salad, a beef fillet with Jerte Picota reduction and seared liver, and a chocolate quenelle with ice cream and Jerte Picota cherries.
The stonefruit will also be displayed in Hispania’s deli area so that customers can taste it and learn more about its history, and diners are being urged to share photos of the specially created dishes on social media using the #JertePicota hashtag.
