Kenyan avocado grower and Halls supplier Kakuzi Limited has been accredited with the Rainforest Alliance certification.
The news means Kakuzi is one of 11 Rainforest Alliance-certified avocado growers worldwide, representing 35 per cent of the total certified land.
To gain the certification, growers must meet the Rainforest Alliance standards of environmental, social and economic sustainability.
A Halls statement said it was proud of the achievement by its longstanding avocado grower.
