The Jupiter Group has been named the winner of the 2019 Corporate Social Responsibility Award at the 10th Midlands Family Business Awards.
Business owners, husband and wife Mark and Yvonne Tweddle, joined other finalists, judges and sponsors for an awards ceremony and dinner at the King Power Stadium in Leicester last week.
“Facing stiff competition in the category, we are delighted that our efforts to give back to local communities, the wider society and the environment have been recognised,” they said.
“CSR to the Jupiter Group is about a collection of developmental ongoing decisions we make to support our goals in being a good, honest, transparent business led by family values to make the right decisions for our people, our planet and the future of the fresh produce industry.
“By actively exercising our purpose we know we will meet our mission to be the first choice fresh produce company for growers, customers and employees globally, by offering outstanding service and opportunity all of the time.”
The company, which is due to launch its inaugural annual report on using its business as a force for good in the coming months, runs the Nancy Tweddle Foundation, a charitable arm which provides funding to various worthy causes across the globe.
Set up in 2010, the Family Business Awards are a charitable initiative established by the Wilson Organisation with the aim to create an ethical, friendly and supportive community for our region’s family businesses.
“As a proud first generation family business with strong values, it was a real honour to participate in and win,” the Tweddles said.
