A major lemon juice manufacturer is celebrating its resurgence having secured a new deal with Tesco.
The producer of PLj Lemon Juice has signed a deal to provide distribution to 500 Tesco stores nationwide, rising to 650 in January, in addition to its existing contracts with retailers such as Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, and Waitrose.
Blending at least 90 per cent lemon juice with lemon oil and natural lemon flavour, the Manchester-based producer claims the juice is the most fruit-rich cordial on the UK market.
“This listing is in direct response to strong consumer demand, and we are delighted to see the iconic PLj brand back in Tesco stores,” said Darren Carabine, sales director for the product's manufacturer, Healthy Food Brands.
The fruit for PLj lemon juice is sourced from Argentina, and a deal has been signed to cover the increase in volume required for the new Tesco distribution agreement.
