Two 20-somethings on a mission are calling for the help of fellow food lovers.
Georgia Sheil and Melodie Tyrer are determined to spend July eating, drinking, cooking and filming their way through Italy in a bid to explore the landscape, the people and the food.
It's not all fun and games, though. Since August 2013, the duo have been simmering their food blog ‘Farm to Face’, complete with original recipes. Theyhope the mooted Italy trip will bring awareness of local farming to a new generation.
Sheil said: 'Most certainly not your average cooking show, the six-episode series will be filmed entirely from a travelling motorhome as we journey through the region - eating, drinking, cooking and filming our experience.
'Meeting with local restaurateurs, visiting farms, and engaging with local suppliers and regional artisan producers, we'll be creating innovative and classic dishes straight from our four-wheeled kitchen.'
To pursue their mission, Sheil and Tyrer require donations to their account on Kickstarter - a website used to help get arts or charity projects off the ground.
At present, the duo are just over halfway to reaching their £8,000 target, with a deadline of 16 June.
Tyrer said: 'We're already blessed with the support of some truly gifted people, and have a formed a team prepared to dedicate their time free of charge, for the entire month of July, to transform this concept into reality.
'It'll be led by producer Tom Booth, who, with decades of experience in the industry, has fashioned a creative film crew who understand and share the same vision, and will be there each step of the way to capture all the excitement on camera.'
The trip will be done on a tight budget, maintaining an honest tone and ensuring that content is relevant and relatable to a broad audience.
Tyrer added: 'Our values are deeply rooted in our upbringing, and the way we live our lives to date. We believe in the future of sustainable consumption and conscious food production, building on age-old methods and emphasising the importance of quality food in our lives.
'As avid cooks, we are passionate about eating whole, nutritious food and avoiding pre-packaged, prepared, cardboard food that serves us no purpose.
'We believe that quality ingredients are key, not just in cooking, but in maintaining a healthy balance to life as well. When we tackle Italy this July, our aim is to share our quasi-enthusiasm with people of all generations, but we can only do it with the support of the public. Therefore, if you believe in organic produce, rustic home-cooking, eco-friendly producing and small farming, please help support this project.'
