Evesham Vale Growers has won the Quality Food Award in the fresh produce category for the second time.
The Worcestershire firm earned the top gong for its Dolce Rosso tomatoes supplied to Morrisons. This is the second time EVG has entered - and the second time it has emerged victorious having won in 2002 with Sainsbury’s Sungold tomatoes.
This year the shortlist included Asda Extra Special Rudolph Potatoes by Fenmarc Produce, Asda Tandoori Chicken Salad, Tesco Exotic Mushroom Selection and The Co-operative Truly Irresistible Garden Salad with pea shoots and Mint Pecorino Dressing.
The entries from The Co-operative and Fenmarc were both highly commended.
