The search is on for the best in Yorkshire and Humber production.

The regional food group has launched its sixth annual deliciouslyorkshire awards to recognise and celebrate region’s food and drink producers, processors, retailers and exporters.

New additions to this year’s programme include an export award the most outstanding newcomer and the overall supreme product of 2010. Judging is by an independent panel comprising celebrity and award winning chefs and producers, chaired by food writer and former chef Elaine Lemm and will take place in August.

Deliciouslyorkshire judge and BBC Radio 2 broadcaster Nigel Barden said: “Yorkshire is now home to a host of Michelin starred restaurants and their maestro chefs, but of course they couldn’t operate without magnificent ingredients from the region. We are lucky enough to enjoy such produce on a daily basis from retailers throughout Britain. The deliciouslyorkshire awards are a guarantee of the finest of quality, having been tasted by a host of judges during their journey to the winners’ podium.”
