The third ISHS International Carrot and other Apiaceae Symposium will now take place from 2-5 October 2023 in York, organisers have announced.
The event was due to take place from 4-7 October 2021 in the North Yorkshire city, however it was postponeddue to ongoing concerns around Covid-19.
“Although postponing an event is never pleasant, we are looking forward to hosting the Third International Carrot and other Apiaceae Symposium in York in 2023. We hope that as the world recovers from our battle with Covid-19 the symposium will be the event to look forward to,' said Coral Russell from the British Growers Association.
The event is being held on behalf of the International Society for Horticultural Science, and is the third to appear under that format.
Dr Emmanuel Geoffriau, chair of the ISHS Carrot and other Apiaceae working group, added: “Many innovations and new knowledge are in progress on carrot and other apiaceae crops which are so important for people’s food diversity and health. Our UK colleagues are preparing the most extraordinary event for the carrot and other apiaceae community in response to extraordinary times. Academics, researchers, industry and extension specialists, we are all looking forward to meeting again in 2023 for an event to remember.”
The reorganised symposium will include attendance at the British Carrot Growers Association Demonstration Day, and existing ticket sales are automatically transferred to the new event date.
