BTF 2024 is focusing on sustainability in UK tomato production

British Tomato Fortnight has kicked off its second week as the British Tomato Growers’ Association looks to promote the sustainability of the UK tomato sector.

The campaign is being supported by a range of partners, including  Corp comms agency Jack and Grace Communications and Veg Power, the UK campaign encouraging children to eat more vegetables.

BTF puts particular focus on sustainability, seasonality, versatility and the health benefits of tomatoes.

For example, in their efforts to inspire families across the UK, the BTGA states that British tomatoes are versatile to cook with and go well in salads.

Additionally, the campaign is being supported by British Bake-Off star Flora Shedden, who has created two recipes to celebrate BTF. These include fresh tomato carpaccio and yellow tomato pasta.

It comes as Veg Power launched its 2024 ‘Growing to Love’ campaign in June, encouraging primary school children to eat more vegetables.
