A new organic box scheme offering next day delivery throughout Kent and London has been launched by Chegworth Valley this month.
Mixed fruit and vegetable boxes can be supplemented with additional chosen produce, or alternatively shoppers can order a complete pick your own box.
Although ranges will be updated weekly there will not be set ordering or delivery days.
Chegworth Valley owner David Deme said the company had looked at traditional box schemes, but wanted to do something more flexible.
“We wanted to start home delivery but knew that we needed to offer something a bit different. We looked at the way in which box schemes traditionally operate, usually on a weekly basis with orders placed a number of days in advance, and realised that we should be offering next day delivery
“As we grow such a wide range of produce on site at our farm we are able to pick to order, then deliver the following day – as well as being more convenient for our customers this also means that they are receiving fruit and vegetables at optimum freshness.”
Juices, jams and chutneys are also available via the company’s website.
The scheme will cover postcodes in Kent and London with next day delivery on all weekday orders placed by 2.30pm.
Chegworth Valley is a family-run fruit farm, established by the Deme family in 1983. The farm is fully organic, consisting of over 90 acres of top fruit, soft fruit, vegetables, salad and herbs.
The company has shops at Borough Market, Kensington and Notting Hill and runs a seasonal farm shop in Chegworth.
