Blackcurrant Foundation lauds PR investment

As part of its bid to educate the nation on the benefits of British blackcurrants, the Blackcurrant Foundation has invested heavily in consumer facing PR activity over the last five years, to raise awareness amongst consumers of all ages.

The promotional push has seen the product deemed a “superfruit” following research from the Scottish Crop Research Institute (SCRI) alongside the creation of a superfruit wheel which compares the health benefits of a wide array of fruits.

The wheel has been requested by more than 10,000 health conscious consumers, schools, health clinics and other educational bodies.

The wheel can now be found online at the Blackcurrant Foundation website - www.blackcurrantfoundation.co.uk - enabling users to spin a wheel to compare a variety of fruits to the health busting blackcurrant.

Users can use their mouse to ‘spin’ the wheel and find out the vitamin and mineral levels of most common fruits, helping them to see which fruits carry the highest benefits to health.

There is also a section dedicated to key health areas where consumers can see the benefit blackcurrants can have on conditions such as asthma, muscle fatigue and visual function.
