BerryWorld, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, is one of the world’s largest and most successful berry suppliers.
In this exclusive interview to mark the start of its fourth decade, the group’s chief executive officer Adam Olins talks to Fruitnet’s Mike Knowles about the road ahead for the business itself and the opportunities he sees to grow the berry market further.
And he considers some of the industry’s biggest challenges, like climate change, and explains how those might influence its future development.
Originally established to develop the soft fruit category in the UK, BerryWorld now supplies all four major berry types for the whole year round, to customers all over the globe.
It has its own production and a wide network of partner growers, as well as an in-house breeding programme that gives it valuable access to new and improved varieties.
And, over the past three decades, it has played an instrumental role in the berry market’s impressive expansion, primarily by knowing the business better than most and promoting quality and consistency of supply.
Can that continue? Watch our exclusive interview to find out.
