Prepared produce giant Bakkavor has been won the M&S Plan A Supplier Group of the Year 2015 Award to recognise its “clear sustainability leadership”.
The award is presented to a supplier who has demonstrated a “consistent commitment” to delivering sustainability outcomes, and inspires other businesses to leave a positive sustainable legacy.
Bakkavor chief executive Agust Gudmundsson said: “We are delighted to have won this award. At Bakkavor we strongly believe in the importance of having a sustainable business and have values and systems in place to ensure we remain focused on our employees, our supply base and the communities in which we live and work.”
Plan A is UK retailer Marks & Spencer’s comprehensive sustainable business plan that focuses on customer, employee and supplier engagement. It includes commitments to tackle climate change, waste, raw materials, health and being a fair partner.
