Marks & Spencer will revitalise its food marketing with a new multimedia campaign backed by model and actress Anna Friel.
Friel will voice a new series of TV adverts, built around the brand Make Today Delicious, which will aim to show how M&S food, including fresh produce, can make everyday food 'extra special'.
The adverts will focus on different food occasions, from a seaside picnic to a lunch on the go, with the first advert, which debuted on British TV earlier this week, focusing on a metropolitan summer BBQ.
'Food is being used as a way to bring people together and make those moments more memorable – be it a BBQ, a picnic or a Sunday roast - and this campaign taps into this trend and shows exactly how great food can transform the mundane into something special,' saidSteve Sharp, executive director of marketing at M&S.
British newspaper The Daily Mirror has dubbed the upmarket retailer's latest campaign as 'food porn'.
