Anglia Business Solutions has been awarded Vertical Solution of the Year for its LINKFresh business management solution, deployed at Spalding-based Lincolnshire Field Products (LFP).

The IT specialist picked up the accolade at this year’s IT Channel Network Awards, where it also scooped an award for the IT Solution of the Year, for a .Net mobile application that was applied at Market Intelligence Services (MIS).

The LINKFresh deployment handles all off LFP’s financial and supply chain requirements in one central, fully integrated and easy-use solution. The project was completed in just four months and to budget.

A major element of the LINKFresh solution was the total automation of LFP’s EDI order processing activities. It is now possible for the process to be run at night without any user intervention, according to Anglia, with allocation of the complete sales order demand across their extensive network of both internal and external packhouses and suppliers.

In addition to the fresh produce functionality, the solution also addressed a number of financial and administrative requirements.

“The financial aspects of the system have helped enormously,” said LFP managing director Robin Hancox. “Cash management is so much easier; reporting much quicker and getting information to our growers has been greatly improved. In addition, periodic reporting is simpler, which has provided us with access to information that was not available with the legacy system. In a system littered with failed system implementations, it is gratifying to report that the solution was successfully delivered within budget and against a very challenging deadline.”

The awards ceremony took place on October 11 in London. Anglia managing director David Hurley said: “We know from the judge’s feedback that this category was one of the most hotly contested this year. Achieving this level of national recognition justifies our significant investment in the design and development of this powerful packaged application.”
