Aldi Everyday Amazing

Aldi has launched a new campaign aimed at showing the public that it is about more than just low prices and is in fact an ethical retailer.

A new TV commercial, entitled ‘Everyday Amazing’, has been designed to highlight the way it treats employees and its responsible sourcing. The ad is running during Emmerdale at 7.15pm.

The lighthearted ad includes facts such as Aldi selling enough Champagne to launch 3,000 ships every day, and that it sells over 22,000 free-range chickens a week.

It also points out that it was the first UK supermarket to back the NFU’s Fruit & Veg Pledge.

The retailer recently underlined its British sourcing credentials during its sponsorship of Team GB at the Olympics, and hopes its latest initiative will expand the perception of Aldi into somewhere you can go to buy responsibly sourced goods.

Adam Zavalis, marketing director at Aldi UK, said: “This is more than just a strapline; this is what sits behind how we have been doing business for over 25 years in the UK. While we’ve fuelled phenomenal growth in the category, even many of our shoppers are unaware of all that sits behind our headline low prices. This is our next step in a long line of behaviours to address that.”
