Yorkshire veg and salad producer Troy Foods has been presented with the prestigious Sword of Honour award by the British Safety Council.
The accolade was given to the company in recognition of its proactive and comprehensive programme for health and safety management, which strives to cover everyone in the business.
Troy Foods general manager James Kempley said: “Health and safety has always been central to our company culture, but the journey we have embarked on this year has moved it up a level and demonstrates our on-going commitment to continuous improvement in this area as part of our focus on delivering quality and excellence.”
The news comes as earlier this year, Troy Foods also received a Five Star accreditation from the British Safety Council. Kempley said: “All our team should be proud of the part they’ve played in helping us to achieve this year’s success.'
He added: “We focus on learning from our mistakes and are committed to ensuring that the best health and safety provision is accessible to everyone involved in the business; we are dedicated to protecting the welfare of all staff, contractors, workers, partners and visitors.”
