A national campaign for peas was named Consumer Marketing Campaign of the Year at The Grower of the Year Awards, in London.

The Yes Peas! initiative, which is coordinated by the Processed Vegetable Growers' Association (PVGA) in Louth, Lincolnshire, in conjunction with Lincolnshire-based Kenyon Communications, beat the campaigns for Bramley apples and British soft fruit to scoop the top prize.

Tim Mudge at PVGA said: “We are absolutely delighted. We have a superb team of people behind this campaign and also the backing of growers and freezing companies who can see the benefits of generic promotion campaign.

Caroline Kenyon, at Kenyon Communications, added: “We are thrilled not only for all those involved in the campaign, but for the farmers and processors who work really hard and with such skill to produce a bag of frozen peas.”
