Worldwide Fruit made a song and dance at Fruit Logistica 2005 to showcase its Jazz apple.
Using the talents of a three piece “Jazz Police” combo, along with marketing manager Robin Barnett’s apple slicing skills, WWF, along with Enzafruit Continent, were looking to get tastebuds tingling with the Jazz offer.
The apples, which the company claims could be a £25 million brand by 2008, were being handed out on the stand as fast as Barnett could slice.
Worldwide Fruit said independent research of 500 consumers in the UK, across Europe and the US, had revealed what it described as a “tremendous” response to Jazz.
In the UK, when compared to Royal Gala, Braeburn and Pink Lady, consumers ranked Jazz first for appearance and eating quality, and 83 per cent said they would buy the apple.
