Apples could soon be flying the Kiwi flag in Australia

New Zealand apple growers are celebrating a WTO decision to lift an 89-year ban imposed by Australia which paves the way for exports of their fruit to their nearest neighbour. The disputes hearing took three years. “Our aim has always been to achieve commercially meaningful access to Australia and we were always confident that our arguments were supported by strong science,” Pipfruit NZ ceo Peter Beaven said.
