The programme of speakers for the prestigious annual CIES World Food Business Summit has been announced.

The 53rd edition of the summit will take place in New York City on June 2009 and will feature attendees from Wal-Mart and Carrefour among others.

The UK will also be represented in the form of Mark Price of Waitrose and Peter Child of McKinsey & Co.

The summit is set to discuss the latest strategies, ideas for retail excellence, a focus on food and a look at new concepts.

Speakers at the summit will include Sainsbury’s ceo Justin King, Kellogg Company ceo David Mackay and professor Robert Watson, chief scientific adviser at DEFRA.

The event will run from June 17-19, 2009 at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, New York.
