cabbage

A woman has claimed she found a dead mouse inside a £1 bag of frozen cabbage, the Telegraph has reported.

Sarah Shields bought the produce from Farm Foods store near Salford, Manchester, but was horrified to find the frozen rodent when she tipped the cabbage into a pan.

'We just screamed. We were trying not to be sick. It was so disgusting. It put us all off our dinner,” she told the paper.

Shields said the “black and furry” mouse appeared to be missing its tail and head, leading her to suggest it had been chopped in half during processing.

She also claimed she will never buy frozen vegetables again - and her daughters “have been put off veg for life”, the Telegraph reported.

She said that when she contacted Farm Foods they offered to refund her the £1 she spent on the cabbage, but she would rather have an apology.

'They haven't even said sorry. I want them to make sure it doesn't happen again – and we want to know where the other half of the mouse is,” she continued.
