Winchester Growers has signed a contract with a national training provider, Intec Business Colleges, to offer staff NVQs that will aid them in their career progression.

Winchester Growers is one of the UK’s leading growers and packers of daffodil bulbs, principally supplying bulb based flowers, bouquets and potted products to major UK high street multiples and horticultural wholesalers, as well as exporting some of its products to Europe and the US.

Staff at the Winchester Growers’ site in Spalding have signed up for NVQs in team leading level 2 and management level 3. These staff are mainly team leaders in the packing department who are using the qualifications to gain the skills to effectively manage others.

The company operates from two sites in the UK; the principal site is at Pinchbeck near Spalding in Lincolnshire, growing protected flower crops such as tulips and lilies, while the second site, close to Penzance in Cornwall, specialises in growing and packing daffodil bulbs and flowers.
