Police are appealing for witnesses after Basil Richardson, a North Wales trader, died in a car crash on Saturday.

The popular Richardson, 74, died when his van crashed into a parked car in Ronald Avenue, Llandudno Junction at 1.30pm on Saturday.

He set up his fruit and vegetable shop in Conwy Road, Llandudno Junction, more than 30 years ago. First known as Moneyworths, it was later called Basil's.

He passed the business on to one of his two sons, Martin. Richardson, divorced from Muriel, had five grandchildren.
