Following the news that head of produce Peter Durose is to leave Tesco, freshinfo has learnt that senior buying manager Anne Wells has also announced her departure from the retailer's head office fresh produce team.
A Tesco spokesperson told freshinfo: "After 10 years in the business, Peter Durose has decided to leave Tesco to set up his own business. We would like to thank Peter for his contribution to Tesco both in the UK and abroad and wish him all the best for the future."
It is believed that Durose's venture will be in the retail sphere, but no more details are available.
Wells has been a major player in the grape category for a number of years. The spokesman added: "Anne Wells is also leaving the business later this year. Once again we would like to thank her for her for her hard work and commitment to Tesco, and would like to wish her well for the future."
