The New Covent Garden annual dinner dance takes place on Saturday, and it promises to be quite an action-packed day.
Held at the Copthorne Hotel in Effingham Park, West Sussex, the event kicks off with a big screen showing of England’s first World Cup match, against Paraguay, at 2pm.
Revellers - and let’s hope they are still revelling once the match is done and dusted - will follow an emotional rollercoaster of an afternoon by letting their hair down during the evening, which begins with a champagne reception and features a performance from the John Oliver Live Big Band and Cabaret.
A host of generous raffle prizes are on offer, and a star turn of a holiday at the world-renowned Hemingways Resort in Kenya, donated by Dicky Evans of Homegrown Produce, will send someone home very happy.
The raffle will raise money for the Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust and Trinity Hospice, Clapham.
