Washington in spotlight at Morrisons

Washington Apples has launched a major campaign across Morrisons supermarkets promoting the region's fruit.

Aimed at core Washington apple consumers, shoppers are being offered the chance to win a family holiday to Washington State, one of 10 iPod Nanos and one of 50 smoothie recipe books.

“This campaign is based around the fact that the consumer enjoys Washington Red varieties above all others,” explained Washington Apple Commission Europe and Middle East representative George Smith. “The promotional agency Ulysses has negotiated prizes on behalf of Washington Apples and the line up offers quality prizes to further enhance the high quality apples available in a family pack.”

The other aim of the promotion is to begin building a profile of Washington Apple customers, and to this end Ulysses has developed a micro site, www.ulyssesmarketing.com/washington, to deliver information on apples. The website also offers useful recipes and there is an area where children have the opportunity to learn about the fruit and play with some of the downloadable pictures available on the site.
