Waitrose tops satisfaction survey for third year

Waitrose has topped the Which? supermarket satisfaction survey for the third year running while Aldi and Lidl have come in second and third.

The upmarket retailer was the only supermarket to be award five stars customer service and came top thanks to an 83 per cent customer rating overall.

It is the first year Aldi and Lidl have beaten Marks & Spencer to climb so far up the rankings. They were the only supermarkets to markedly improve on last year with ratings of 72 per cent and 68 per cent respectively.

Online Which? found that Ocado was the joint top scoring online supermarket, along with Waitrose on 80 per cent.

Given the rising cost of food, Which? asked what its members think about supermarket prices. Only 22 per cent said they trusted supermarkets to charge a fair price for food.

Which? also asked members what bothers them most about pricing. The 11,000 people polled said the proliferation of multi buy offers compared with discounts was the main aggravation.
