Waitrose has opened its fourth store in Dubai with a new convenience outlet at a shopping centre in a busy residential area of the city.
The opening, which has created 15 jobs, is part of Waitrose’s partnership with Dubai retail chain Fine Fare Food Market, which will run the store’s daily operations with support from Waitrose UK.
The 4,900 sq ft shop forms part of the new Dar Wasl shopping centre, located in a busy residential area and designed to provide a top-up shopping offer for both expats and local Emirati customers.
Waitrose now has nine stores in total in the United Arab Emirates, including five located in Abu Dhabi.
The new shop will offer a wide range of Waitrose products, including fruit and vegetables, meat, bakery, delicatessen, frozen and non food lines. A number of products from the essential Waitrose and Waitrose 1 ranges will be available, including British milk, cheese, yogurts, pasta and confectionery.
“We’re seeing ever increasing demand for Waitrose products from global audiences - either from British people who have moved abroad, or from those who have heard about our great products,” said Waitrose head of B2B growth and development, Barry Delehanty.
“Our quality and provenance really appeals to the international market and we’re proud that our brand continues to retain the trust of customers wherever they are in the world.”
