Waitrose is hoping to boost sales of organic celeriac with the launch of a new offer throughout November.
The retailer has teamed up with Jack Buck Growers to offer one-third off the price of a kilo of organic celeriac to £1.66. The promotion will be supported with in-store tasting sessions of celeriac chips.
Simon Howard, of Jack Buck Growers, said the weather had been kind to celeriac and organic stocks were plentiful.
The promotion will also run alongside another Waitrose deal, offering money off sweet potato, supplied by Utopia.
Howard said: “It makes sense to get together with other category suppliers in this way. The customer often passes over these delicious vegetables and we are confident, once tasted, they will not only buy them and experiment with them but will certainly come back for more.”
Celebrity chef Rachel Green also recently paid a visit to the Jack Buck farm as part of her television series The Flying Cook.
